Keyboard or piano: which should you learn?
A keyboard is portable, affordable and comes with built-in sounds and rhythms, which makes it ideal for playing songs quickly. A piano has weighted keys and suits classical pieces and graded exams. Many students start on keyboard and move on later; see piano classes in Asansol.
Which keyboard should a beginner buy?
- at least 61 full-size keys
- touch-sensitive keys, so playing harder sounds louder
- a power adapter rather than batteries alone
- a stand or table at the right height
Casio and Yamaha both make reliable entry-level keyboards. Ask before you buy and I can help you choose; or read buying a guitar or keyboard in Asansol.
Keyboard for kids
Keyboard is a friendly first instrument for children: the notes are laid out in a line, and familiar tunes come quickly. Every lesson ends with short practice goals parents can follow at home.
